Wintertime is fun in Northwest Iowa! Snowmobile on our frozen lakes and rivers. Rentals are available. Cross country ski trails and downhill skiing await you. Ice fishing is popular here, too. Come join the fun of Winter Tournament Days.

Warmer-weather activites have something for everyone:

  • Golf on numerous challenging public golf courses at reasonable rates.
  • Canoe on the Little Sioux and Des Moines Rivers.
  • Excellent fall pheasant and deer hunting at private and public hunting areas.

  • Hiking and biking trails close to lakes and through wooded areas.*
  • Local museums, historic sites, and the noted Railroad museum to visit.*
  • Eight lakes for boating, fishing, swimming* and fast water sports. Boat and ski jet rentals available.
  • Two live theaters with Broadway hits, plus a Bantam Theater* for the young ones.

Two nearby landmarks will inspire you:

  2. Orange City, a Dutch Village with an active Dutch wooden shoe factory.

  • Each year there is at least one small town celebrating its 100th or 125th year of founding. It is a pleasure to become part of a small town's historic celebration.*
